Short Code
An SMS short code is a 5-6 digit phone number that is used by businesses to opt-in consumers to their SMS programs, and then used to send text message coupons, offers, promotions, etc. to those customers that had previously opted-in. A consumer interacts with an SMS short code by composing a new text message on their mobile device, and addressing it to the businesses 5-6 digit SMS short code. In the example below, the SMS short code used by this business is 83733.
Long Code
SMS Long code service is primarily used for lead generation or receiving feedbacks from the customers. In a shared long code environment every company which wants to avail this service will be provided with a Keyword (Keyword is an unique identifier for your company on our shared Long code. e.g. if, your companies name is ABC Ltd and you took a keyword say ABCL on our long code then every message which starts with ABCL and a blank space will be forwarded to your panel.
Attachments & Media Via SMS
Send documents and files via SMS by sending a link to a web page containing the files. All of TeleMessage interfaces for sending the SMS — like TeleMessage web application, Enterprise number mobile application and API — can generate an SMS with links. The SMS will be sent to your desired party with a link. Selecting the link will navigate the mobile default web browser to your dedicated web page. A new browser window will load with attached file view.
